  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The Call of the Wild   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The Call of the Wild, by Jack London, is a classic piece of American literature. The novel follows the life of a dog named Buck as his world changes and in turn forces him to become an entirely new dog. Cruel circumstances require Buck to lose his carefree attitude and somewhat peaceful outlook on life. Love then enters his life and causes him to see life through new eyes. In the end, however, he must choose between the master he loves or the wildness he belongs in.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The novel starts on Judge Miller’s property in Santa Clara Valley. Buck is the king of his domain and everyone knows it - from the lowly house dogs to the Judge’s sons. However, a gardener with a gambling problem soon ends Buck’s relaxed life. He sells Buck in order to obtain more money; Buck is sent west to be a sled dog and is cruelly mistreated along the way.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  A quick learner, he adapts well to the sled dog life. His heritage also helped him become accustomed to the harsh Klondike climate. Some difficulties such as sore feet and a voracious appetite set him back at the beginning, but he speedily overcomes them. Buck goes through several masters and many thousands of miles. Along the way, he learns â€Å"The Law of Club and Fang†: never challenge a human that has a weapon, and once a fighting dog falls to the ground, roaming huskies quickly destroy it.   Ã‚  Ã‚   ...

With the character of composure, steadiness and fortitude, I never give up. During middle school, I wasn’t deeply attracted to accountancy until having read the book _Corporate Finance_ written by Stephen A. Ross. It brought me to a completely new world with many different ways and modes of thinking, making me feel wonders of the major’s macro-function and micro-details. Consequently, my damnedest and savvy sent me to the commercial college of Renmin University of China in which my specialized field was accountancy. Three years of professional study has inspired my strong and unique sense of accounting, not to mention how prudential and careful I am in pursuing my bachelor degree. The enormous pressure in this first-class campus with fierce competition stimulated me to strive for a better future instead of keeping stagnant. Without compromising to difficulties, I made every effort to improve and strengthen myself in all aspects. Active participation in class and plenty of time spent in the library finally earned for me the â€Å"Excellent Student†Ã£â‚¬ Ã¢â‚¬ Second Prize Scholarship† and so on. Apart from my personal effort, as monitor, I also attempted and organized many class activities, such as mock interview where I divided my classmates into two groups, one group acting as the interviewer, the other as interviewee. During my ï ¼Å'I coordinated different parts of our class, our class gained the honor of University-level Excellent Class in 2013. The advanced accounting courses will strengthen my foundation in accounting and help to prepare me for my future career in company controllership. The outstanding faculty, along with the excellent selection of courses available within your program will equip me with the latest accounting theories and practices and allow me to obtain my professional goals. I know that I am now fully qualified and prepared to take on this challenge. The victimization of women through rape has been noted to be prevalent due to their weak protective behaviors. Research conducted by Fisher, Cullen, and Turner (2000), also note that self-protective behaviors by victims may be a key influence to the outcomes of the sexual violence. In this context, Fisher et al. (2000), indicated that women are constantly using physical protective actions, such as fleeing and fighting back but these two actions grant them a rare chance of escaping from the victimization act. Other aspects of the social arena include: attacks, which occur at night, the use of weapons, and attack by close partners. Consequently, all of these aspects make the women less likely to fight back. Thus, this clearly indicates that women and girls should be extremely cautious when it comes to social matters, especially aspects commonly associated to that of victimization. In addition, in the report compiled by Fisher Cullen, and Turner (2000), regarding the sexual victimization of college girls, there seems to exist some tangible evidence that school girls are also at risk of victimization. Correspondingly, this report states that sexual victimization of female students has risen significantly in the last decade. Thus, there seems to exist some clarity that the victimization of women has its roots from the victimization of girls.
